Early Sunday morning, ACCPD units responded to the Club Platinum, 1905 Commerce Road, in response to a call for assistance from an off-duty Clarke County Sheriff’s Deputy regarding “shots fired.” Responding officers located a total of seven spent cartridges from two different caliber weapons and a blood trail leading from the parking lot. It is believed that a large fight had occurred inside the club and it spilled out into the parking lot where the shooting occurred. From there, officers responded to Athens Regional Hospital to meet with a self-transported victim of the shooting. A man who lives on Franklin Street had received a superficial wound and was being treated. The investigation is on-going.
