Garbage and Recycling and Landfill Pickup for MLK Day

The Athens-Clarke County Solid Waste Department will suspend garbage and recycling collections on Monday, Jan. 21, because of the Martin Luther King, Jr holiday.

Residential garbage and recycling materials which are normally collected on Monday will be picked up on Tuesday, Jan 22. All other collection days stay the same.

Customers in the downtown district will have their garbage and recycling picked up according to the regular schedule. All other commercial curbside and commercial dumpster garbage and recycling services normally collected on Monday will be picked up on Tuesday, Jan 22.

All other collection days are the same. Leaf and limb collections will begin on Tuesday, Jan 22 in the Newtown and Boulevard area.

Solid Waste Offices will be closed on Monday. Regular business hours will be followed on Tuesday, Jan 22.
