Georgia Science & Engineering Fair

Our photographer wanders through the exhibit halls at the Classic Center, marveling at the student projects.

From across the state, students come to Athens every spring for the Georgia Science and Engineering Fair, held this year at the Classic Center. This is the 63rd year for the competition, which is open to middle and high school students. The prizes and accolades don't end this weekend.

Students may center their projects in the Georgia BioGENEius Challenge. Finalists in this state competition travel to Washington, D.C. in June for the National Challenge.  Two high school seniors participating in the Georgia Science and Engineering Fair will be chosen attend the  2011 National Youth Science Camp in July.
