Lawrenceville Woman Killed In Athens Crash: Police

Police say a woman was walking in the northbound lane of Cedar Shoals Drive Thursday, when she was hit by a car.

ATHENS, GA — A woman died Thursday night after being hit by a car near Cedar Shoals Drive, according to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. near the area of Cedar Shoals and Crows Nest Court.

Police said the woman was walking in the northbound lane of Cedar Shoals when she was hit by the oncoming car.

Police identified the woman as Carly Johnson, 34, of Lawrenceville.

According to the police department, this is the eighth fatal motor vehicle crash in Athens-Clarke County this year.
