Man Arrested for Rape and Battery

An officer met with the 33-year old victim near the College Avenue and Willow Street intersection around 5:30am on Monday, April 29. The victim told the officer she had been riding around with the offender she knew by first name.

Around 4:30am while travelling down Pulaski St, the offender pulled over, produced a box cutter, and instructed her to remove her pants. When she refused, he struck her in the face. She then complied and he raped her.

After the assault, he drove to the area of Willow Street and College Avenue and dropped her off. She began walking and met up with a friend. She told him of the assault and he called police.

The offender was located at Riverview Apts on College Avenue and, after questioning, he was arrested. Shawn Waddell Hall, 44, Oglethorpe Avenue, was charged with Rape and Battery.
