Daniel Joseph Gifford was arrested at gunpoint.

As he was smashing the windows in her home, Daniel Joseph Gifford was calling to his sister in a high, eerie voice, saying, "Sister, come play," while she remained barracked in her upstairs bedroom.

According to a story in the Athens Banner Herald, the 28-year-old Gifford was arrested at gunpoint Sunday evening around 8, after terrorizing his sister. When police arrived, he was trying to break down her bedroom door, the story says. He earlier had damaged her car with the bat and then broken into her house and started smashing windows.

The sister told police officers that her brother's behavior was crazy, the story says. She also told them a similar incident had happened a few weeks before.

Sunday night, he was exclaiming as though he were on a roller coaster--saying "Whoo-hoo!"--and using a voice like one from a horror movie, according to the story. Under the state Family Violence Act, Gifford was charged with aggravated assault, first-degree burglary and two counts of criminal to damage.
