Man Charged With Murder In Athens Man's Shooting Death

ATHENS, GA — The man who was shot and killed Sunday in the 100 block of Northview Drive was identified by police as Ja'Vanni McDavid, 24.

The Athens resident was shot around 12:15 a.m. and was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. McDavid later died from those injuries, Athens-Clarke Police said Friday.

Anthony Brown, 19, is charged on suspicion of murder in connection with the case, police said.
