Man Shot On UGA Campus; 2 Charged: Reports

The victim and the two men taken into custody were all visiting campus, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

ATHENS, GA — One man was injured and two others were charged in connection with an overnight shooting at the University of Georgia campus, according to reports.

The school warned students in a tweet timestamped 2:42 a.m. Saturday about the attack at Fulton and Spring streets and followed up about 40 minutes later, tweeting that the suspects were in custody.

Police found a man with gunshot wounds to the leg that were not life-threatening, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and shortly after that, authorities stopped a vehicle believed to be tied to the shooting and arrested two men.

Zachary Thomas Baker, 25, and Mark Luke Jarrett, 24, were charged with assault, reckless conduct and two weapon-related offenses, the newspaper reported, adding all three men were campus visitors.
