Man with Pistol Robs Insurance Office, Then Flees

Athens Clarke County Police believe the suspect may be traveling in a white Chevrolet SUV.

Around 11am on Saturday, a man walked into the crowded Advantage Insurance office near Georgia Square Mall. He wore a gray NY baseball cap, long white shorts and a black shirt, and he carried a semiautomatic pistol, maybe a Glock.

He left the office on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to a story in the Athens Banner Herald. Police now believe this man may be traveling with three other black men in a white Chevrolet SUV, like a Yukon, that has a tinted stripe on the windshield.

Someone who saw the vehicle near the office told police where it seemed to be heading. There isn't information about the vehicle's exact make or its license plate numbers, the story says. Anyone seeing the suspect and vehicle should call 911.
