An allegedly intoxicated man was arrested Friday morning after a downtown fight for supposedly trying to deflate a police officer's bicycle tire.
Walter Lee Brown, 30, of The Preserve, was part of a crowd that had gathered at the corner of Jackson and Washington around 2am Friday, according to a story in the Athens Banner Herald. When the officer arrived, he saw people pushing each other and saw a woman knee a man in the groin and hit him, the story says.

The woman told the police officer the fight began when a man had grabbed her, but that story wasn't corroborated by other people, according to the Athens Banner Herald. No one was arrested for the fight.
The bar owner saw Brown kneeling by the officer's bicycle, spinning the wheel as one does to find the air valve, the story says. When he told the officer, Brown lunged at hime and eventually had to be subdued by the officer. He was then arrested for public intoxication.
