Repeat Liquor Store Shoplifter Arrested

A man who has been reported multiple times for shoplifting at ABC Package Store was arrested Wednesday, according to an report.

Store employees told police that a man wearing a brown jump suit was in the store, and was the same man who stole a bottle of vodka . Police stopped the man before he as able to exit and, after telling him to turn around, attempted to remove the man's backpack.

When police began to search the man, he began pushing against the officer and attacking the store owner. Police attempted multiple times to put the man on the ground, including using an asp baton against his upper thigh on several occasions. However, the man never budged and it took several police officers and the store owner to bring the man to the ground.

Police identified the man as David Webb, 28, and found a bottle of Absolut Citron in his pants. During the fight, Webb broke the store owner's doors and turnstile, with damage valued at $1800. He was arrested, charged with shoplifting, criminal damage second degree and obstruction of law enforcement. Webb was then transported to Clarke County Jail.
