Our rivers and streams provide us with fresh drinking water, important wildlife habitat, and recreational opportunities. Help preserve our precious rivers and streams at this yearβs Rivers Alive volunteer cleanup event! We are the solution to water pollution!

Rivers Alive is a joint program of the Environmental Protection Division Outreach Education Programs and the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation. The annual Georgia Waterway Cleanup is the largest single volunteer effort to beautify Georgiaβs water resources.
2014 Rives Alive Wrap Up
Thank you, Athens, for another successful Rivers Alive!
192 volunteers worked at 15 sites to collect:
4.89 tons (9,740 lbs.),
1.21 tons (2,400 lbs.) of recycling ,
1 ton (2,000 lbs.) of metal,
And 194 tires!
