Sister Says Teenager Killed Dog By Throwing It Into A Wall

Clarke County tries to enforce laws designed to protect animals.

Did a woman's younger sister kill the woman's dog by throwing it against a wall on Sunday morning before running away?

That's the questions that Athens Clarke County Police are trying to answer, according to a story in the Athens Banner Herald. The woman told them her 17-year-old sister and she had been sitting on their porch around midnight when one of their small dogs began barking.

The teenager told her sister she was going to throw the dog in the bedroom, the story says, and she allegedly did. She threw the animal against a cement wall, and it died a few hours later.

The woman told police she has custody of her younger sister, who moved to town in July. The story says she heard her sister leave the house a few hours later and then return.

The teenager could be charged with animal cruelty, the story says.
