"Speak Out for Species" Holds Film Festival in Athens, Ga.

The University of Georgia organization Speak Out for Species is sponsoring the 8th annual Animal Voices Film Festival which explores human relationships with other species and ways that we can help to protect animals.

From chimpanzees to wild horses, from killer whales to chickens, the films take viewers into close encounters with other species, and provide us with the opportunity to discover their remarkable intelligence, rich emotional lives, and complex social bonds. The films also delve into timely issues of animal welfare and encourage viewers to consider our ethical responsibilities to the other creatures who share our planet.
 
Screenings are held in the UGA Miller Learning Center, room 101 at 7:30 pm every Monday in February. All films are free and open to the public. Screenings are followed by discussions led by UGA faculty and other guests.
