Student, 13, Injured In Clarke County Shooting
The shooting happened early Monday in a Clarke County neighborhood before school hours.
ATHENS — A 13-year-old Clarke County student was injured Monday morning in a shooting prior to school hours, according to local police and the Clarke County School District said.
Athens-Clarke County Police said the shooting happened in the area of Chalfont Drive. Police did not say what led to the shooting.
School officials said the shooting happened before school hours.

Police said the student's injuries do not seem to be life-threatening.
Counselors are available to speak to students who may have witnessed the shooting, school officials said.
