While police were investigating several burglaries at Stone Creek Apartments, 460 Barnett Shoals Road, they discovered an attempted burglary at a residence. The resident could not be identified at the time of the report. It is unknown if anything is missing.

A man reported his Westchester Drive residence was burglarized between 7pm on March 12 and 7am on March 13. A game system, TV, cash, and DVDs were stolen. The total value was $2,265.

Officers responded to a complaint of an open door at Firehouse Package, 739 West Broad Street. Upon arrival, they found that a glass door had been broken out. The owner responded and determined that a cash register, cash, and bottles of liquor had been stolen. The items were valued at $133. This occurred between 11pm on March 12 and 6am on March 13.

A woman said she arrived at her Barnett Shoals Rd residence around 10pm March 13. When she entered, she noticed blinds and doors open. She checked the residence but did not notice anything missing. She went to a neighbor’s to see if anyone was home. She returned to her residence and when she went inside, she heard a door close. She went outside and saw a dark in color four-door sedan with the trunk open parked nearby. She began talking with a light to medium complexioned black male standing at the vehicle. When asked if he lived there, he said he was visiting a friend. When she told him she had called the police, the male slammed the trunk, jumped in the car, and sped off. The first officer to arrive saw the vehicle and was almost hit head on as it was leaving. The driver was able to leave the area before the officer could turn around to pursue. The suspect was further described as wearing a long sleeved shirt, pants, and black gloves with white writing on them. He had a low haircut and scruffy facial hair. This occurred between 7am and 10pm on March 13.

While investigating the aforementioned burglary, officers discovered that another residence had also been burglarized. Contact was not made with the occupant so it is unknown at this time if anything is missing from her residence. However, a crate containing a camera, lap tops, pill bottles, and an iPod was found in the burglarized residence. Investigation revealed these items had been stolen from a nearby residence. Two TVs from this residence were recovered outside. The second residence was burglarized between 7am and 10:50pm on March 13.
