Televisions, Leaf Blowers, Valuable Portraits--All Stolen in Early July in Athens

A woman reported that between 8:00am and 4:47pm on July 4, someone entered her Winterville Road residence by breaking a window next to the front door, then reaching in and unlocking the front door. The only item missing was a Kodak digital camera valued at $150.00.
A 2005 Ford Focus owned by a North Avenue resident was stolen from another North Avenue location between midnight on July 5 and 1200 noon on July 11. The vehicle is silver and valued at $5,000. The tag number is unknown at this time.

An antique teak bench and metal chairs valued at $1,050 were stolen from Big City Bread, 393 North Finley Street, between 11pm on July 6 and 6am on July 7. The suspect is a white male, no further description.

On June 5 at 7:30am, someone entered a Cedar Shoals Drive residence and left a door standing open. The rear door had been kicked in and it is believed that two TV’s were stolen.
A woman reported that between June 30 and July 5, someone entered her garage and stole a gas-powered leaf blower and gas can, with a total value of $130.
Someone entered the Sigma Pi Fraternity house through an unsecured basement door on July 5. Two white males can be seen on surveillance video taking a framed portrait, valued at $4,000.00, from inside the house.
A man reported that someone entered his Chesterton Drive residence through a forced-open side door between 9:00am and 6:15pm on July 5. Two TV’s, an I-Pod II and an Apple MacBook computer, total value of $5,590.00, were stolen.
A man reported that his Old Creek Road residence was entered through a broken front window. Nothing was determined to have been taken.
A woman reported that between 12:00am and 12:40pm on July 5, someone entered her unlocked vehicle while it was parked at her South Milledge Avenue residence. Stolen were a GPS system and an I-Pod Classic, total value of $400.
At 11:51pm on July 5, an ACCPD officer noted a vehicle traveling on Lexington Road without its headlights illuminated. A traffic stop was conducted, and it was determined that the driver, Darcey Leonard Williams, 28, Ruth Street, did not have a valid driver’s license. The investigation also revealed that Williams was in possession of drugs. Williams was placed under arrest and charged with Driving Without A Valid License, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Cocaine, and Driving Without Headlights.
