Thieves Steal Catalytic Converters at St. Mary’s, ARMC

All happened Thursday night or early Friday morning.

Burglary
A Barnett Shoals residence of was burglarized between midnight and 2:30 a.m. on July 25. Two computers, several watches, sporting equipment and a range finder were taken. Total value $8,700.

R&T Mechanic Shop on Ruth Street was burglarized between 10 p.m. on July 27 and 7 a.m. on July 25. Tools and a Buick Le Sabre were taken. The total value of stolen items is $6,250.

Officers responded to a burglary alarm at Last Minute Cuts, 215 Tallassee Road on July 25 around 2:15. The suspect had broken a window in an attempt to gain entry. The business owner responded to the scene and reported that entry was not gained.

A North Poplar Street residence was burglarized between 2 p.m. on July 25 and 3:30 a.m. on July 26. Jewelry, cash and an IPod were taken. The total value of stolen items is $340.

Theft
A Watkinsville resident reported the catalytic converter was removed from her 2000 Toyota while parked at St Mary’s Hospital. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on July 24. The item was valued at $900.

A Jefferson resident reported the catalytic converter was taken from her 2010 Honda. The incident occurred at St Mary’s Hospital around 11 p.m. The converter is valued at $900.

An Athens man reported the catalytic converter was taken from his 2000 Toyota while parked at ARMC. The incident occurred between 5 p.m. on July 24 and 2 a.m. on July 25. The converter is valued at $450.

Mike Hodges of ARMC reported that catalytic converters were removed from three vehicles between 9 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on July 25.
