Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock--The Start of School Looms
There are furlough days built into the calendar as well.
Back to School is in season and the clock is ticking on summer vacation for students all over Athens Clarke County.
There's just one more week before the 2013-14 academic year begins for Clarke County Schools.
Here are five things to know about the school calendar:
1. Aug. 7: First Day of School (It's OK to be a little jealous of nearby Walton County, which opens Aug. 14).
2. Nov. 25-29: Thanksgiving Break. Hey kids, your parents only got Thursday and Friday off when they were your age.
3. Dec. 20-Jan. 6: Winter Break. Wow. Includes three weekends!
4. March 10-14: Spring Break. It will feel longer than that if your break includes a road trip to Orlando.
5. May 16: Last day of school. That's if a snow day doesn't come into play.
