Two Arrested on Illegal Drug Charges and Loitering

Two Athens residents were charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of schedule III, IV, V substances, and loitering at the 200 block of Epps Bridge Parkway on July 11.
Andre Sartain, 26, of Athens and Johnathan Green, 27, of Athens were arrested at the Abby West Apartment Complex.

The apartment complex courtesy officer reported that two suspicious men were peering into his apartment and inspecting his official government vehicle on July 10.
When questioned, Sartain stated that “he feared for his safety and the other the residents and wanted to investigate what was happening.” He also reported that he and Green were drinking in front of his apartment. The two men denied the allegations of loitering and denied looking into the officer’s car.

Police discovered a small bag containing a white powdered substance, which law enforcement identified as methamphetamine, and a small zippered pouch containing Hydroxyzine, Xanax, Phenergan, and Seroquil
After being Mirandized, the two suspects agreed to questioning without representation.
