
Around 6:40pm on June 16 officers responded to the Travel Lodge, 898 West Broad Street, to a battery that had just occurred.
Jennifer Rene Stancil, who had injuries to her face, met officers and told them the offender was in a room. As officer approached the room, they heard an engine start in the parking lot and saw a man leaving on a scooter.
Stancil identified him as the offender and the officers pursued him. He was stopped at Reese and Harris Street and detained. He was identified by an ID card as Jeffery Steven Delacruz.

An investigation revealed that Delacruz had picked up Stancil up and brought her to the motel. Stancil said they did drugs together, but when she tried to leave, he shoved her into the door, grabbed her by her arms, and pulled her back into the room.
Delacruz had a bag in his possession that Stancil claimed was hers. Inside the bag was a crack pipe.

Delacruz was arrested. At the jail, police learned he had given a false name. He was identified as Christian Wilfredo, 32, of Grove Street. He was charged with Battery, Possession of Fake ID, False Imprisonment, Driving without a Valid License, and two counts First Degree Forgery.
Stancil, 24, of Hull Rd, was arrested and charged with Solicitation of Sodomy and Possession of Drug Related Objects.
