UGA Has More Champions--in Tuba and Euphonium
Of the six top slots in one competition, four were from UGA.

Graduate students have won both national and international competitions the past few months, according to professor David Zerkel. He heads the tuba-euphonium studio in the Hugh Hodgson School of Music. Four of his students won top prizes at the Leonard Falcone Euphonium and Tuba Festival: David McLemore, Simon Wildman, Gary Garvin and Alex Avila.
