UGA Student Back In U.S. After Being On Life Support In Mexico: Report
Liza Burke was reunited with her family Tuesday in Florida, a media report says.

JACKSONVILLE, FL — A University of Georgia senior who suffered brain hemorrhage while on spring break in Mexico has been reunited with her family, according to Channel 2 Action News.
Liza Burke and her friends were in Cabo San Lucas, where she was diagnosed with arteriovenous malformation. Burke was put on life support after she complained of a headache and began being treated by doctors.
According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, arteriovenous malformation occurs when a group of blood vessels fail to form in the body correctly. Arteries and veins become "unusually tangled and form direct connections, bypassing normal tissues," Johns Hopkins said.
