Victim Says Cell Phone Was Weak, But Taser Was Not

The information in this story comes from the ACC Police Department. An arrest doesn't mean a conviction.

A man who lives on Peter Street told police that he was Tasered and robbed while he was at Bethel Midtown Village.

He said he was approached by a black man who asked to borrow his phone. The man said he told the man his (phone) charge was low and declined to lend his phone.

A short time later, the person who wanted to use his cell zapped him with a Taser, he told police. He said he tried to resist but the suspect was able to get his money. He described the suspect as a dark-skinned black man, 5-9 to 5-11, stocky build, wearing a white t-shirt.
