Dear Athens Clarke County Commission,
I have just been informed that you all are considering a plan that would undoubtedly lead to voter suppression in Athens Clarke County. I implore you to rethink this.

However, moving and closing polling locations that would make it hard for certain populations to vote is totally against what I believe this town stands for.
Athens Clarke County is not North Carolina. You all should be coming up with ways to expand voting opportunities rather than restricting them.

Please reconsider this plan and leave the vast majority of the polling locations open for people to vote. If you have to make changes to locations, choose neutral locations like the parks rather than police stations.
Athens is the last place that I thought would take advantage of the mistake the Supreme Court made when it gutted the Voting Rights Act. Please do not cast a shadow on our town by putting us on the list of shame.
Athens Clarke County should not be one of those places that get in the way of people who want to exercise one of our most important rights.
