Whit Davis Elementary wins $5K in Georgia United Credit Union School Crashers Competition

The Athens school was one of only 5 to win.

Whit Davis Elementary School has won $5,000 from Georgia United Credit Union in their School Crashers competition. Around 750 schools applied in the Yard Crashers-style competition, and only 5 won.

“We are so excited to receive this award from Georgia United Credit Union, and it will enable us to make aesthetic improvements that will make Whit Davis an even-more inviting school than it already is,” said Principal Derrick Maxwell. “I want to thank our school’s PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) for taking the time to nominate our school, and Georgia United for continuing to be such a strong partner with our school district.”

Bill Bland, Regional Director of Georgia United Credit Union, will present the check at 6 p.m. at the August 12 PTO meeting. The school is located at 1450 Whit Davis Rd., Athens, GA 30605.
