Witness Watches Burglary From Closet Hiding Spot; Alleged Burglar Arrested

The information in this story comes from the ACC Police Department. An arrest doesn't mean a conviction.

On August 15 at 12:48pm, Richard Alan Gresham allegedly forcibly entered a Spring Valley Road residence through the back door. The person who lives in the house was not at home at the time of the incident.

But a witness who had permission to be there was in the residence and recognized the offender’s voice. The witness hid in a closet during the incident. An intruder took a television, washing machine, clothes dryer and some jewelry.

A description of the vehicle was given to the officer. The officer observed the suspect van on Sanders Road and made a traffic stop. After an investigation Gresham was arrested and charged with burglary.

A man reported that between 6:00am and 5:00pm on August 16, someone had broken a kitchen window trying to get into a North Bluff Road home. The resident has a large dog inside his apartment that may have deterred anyone from entering.
