An Athens woman attempted to steal more than $1,500 worth of beads and rings from the Belk in Georgia Square Mall on Monday, according to an Athens-Clarke County Police report.
Denise Ogletree, 55, was stopped by Belk store owners at about 6:30 p.m., after employees saw her go into the dressing room with two dresses, stockings and a robe and later come out with only stockings. After a manager had employees check the dressing room, dozens of tags from jeweled beads were found in the pockets of the robe.
