YWCO Kids Tri the Y Youth Triathlon Celebrates 5 Years

Celebrate five years of the YWCO Kids Tri the Y Youth Triathlon at this family friendly event on May 14, 2016.

Brief Description: The course is ideal for first time participants or seasoned triathletes and features an indoor pool swim, closed bike course and flat run course. Three age groups will participate in a time trial start. The bike course will be closed to traffic and monitored by Athens Clarke County police. The run leg is on the YWCO property and features a mix of grass and trails. Distances are 6-8 years old: 50yd swim/2mile bike/600yard run; 9-11 years old: 100yd swim/3mi bike/1mi run; and 12-15: 150yd swim/4 mi bike/1.3mi run.

Parking: Parking is available on the YWCO campus before 6:45 a.m. Additional parking is available in the brick office complex across from the YWCO and is accessible from Barnett Shoals.

Additional Information: Participation is limited to 125 athletes – THIS RACE WILL SELL OUT. Registration is $35 through March 31, 2016 and $40 until race day. All athletes will receive a race number, technical t-shirt, swim cap, and finisher medal for participating along with a Road ID bag and other goodies from our sponsors. Male and female age group awards will be distributed. Athletes will be required to bring their own bicycles, helmets, running shoes, goggles and other required equipment. Parents will not be allowed on the race course with their children however there will be ample opportunity to watch from the side of the pool and along the bike and run course.
