10 Charged In Street Racing Investigation: Police
The ten people charged in a street racing investigation over the weekend are from DeKalb, Cobb, Fulton, Gwinnett and Henry counties.
ATLANTA, GA — Several people were charged in a weekend street racing investigation, Atlanta police said.
Officers were notified between Saturday evening and early Sunday morning that "a group of reckless drivers" was doing donuts and burnouts in major intersections of nearby counties, police said.
The drivers eventually made their way to Atlanta, in the areas of Interstate 75/85 at 17th Street and Lenox Road at Peachtree Road, police said.

Ten people were charged and 10 vehicles were impounded, police said.
The people who were charged were from Hampton, Lilburn, Loganville, Grayson, Covington, Atlanta, Kennesaw, Lawrenceville and Tucker.

"Street racing remains a priority to us, and we will not stop our efforts to eradicate these criminals from our streets. While multiple arrests were made for this behavior overnight, our work is far from over. Using our technology and intel from our local and state partners, we often make arrests after the fact, due to thorough investigations conducted on these events. We are proud of the efforts of our officers last night as the continue to show that street racing will not be tolerated in the City of Atlanta," Atlanta police said in a news release.
