$120 In Summer P-EBT Benefits To Be Issued To Georgia Students
The state grocery assistance program will start releasing benefits to eligible students in the next few months.

ATLANTA, GA — Families with students who received free or reduced meals in the 2022-23 academic year will soon be issued a lump sum of $120 per student on their Pandemic-EBT cards, also known as P-EBT cards, state officials said Friday.
The summer funding is part of Georgia's continuation of its P-EBT program that began during the COVID-19 pandemic and benefits students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The program helps families buy groceries.
Benefits will be distributed to eligible students in the next few months by the Georgia Department of Human Services. Exact timing will depend on when the student’s school submitted their data to the human services department.

Students must have attended a school participating in the National School Lunch Program to be eligible, human services said in a news release. High-school seniors who graduated in May are eligible for P-EBT.
Children who were in child care and aged 0-5 and those 5-years-old who turned age 6 during the 2022-23 school year are eligible for the benefits if they were enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

The funding will be released on the same P-EBT card previously used or on the household's current EBT card for a student in a SNAP household.
"Newly eligible students who are not part of a SNAP household will receive a P-EBT card within four weeks of their benefit release date," human services officials said.
