Both were taken to a local children's hospital; man is due in court Tuesday, say media reports.

ATLANTA, GA — The Atlanta police arrested a man Sunday night after he accidentally shot his two stepsons while cleaning his gun, according to media reports. Brandon Vicks, 27, has been charged with two counts of reckless conduct, a misdemeanor, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

The two boys, 10 and 13 years old, are being treated at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, the AJC reported. The incident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday at a home in the 1900 block of Piedmont Circle, the Atlanta police said.

Vicks was cleaning his gun when it discharged, firing a bullet that ricocheted off the floor and struck the 10-year-old in the left hand and left arm, the AJC reported. It then hit the 13-year-old above his right eye.
