2 Teens Dead, Juvenile Injured In Atlanta Apartment Shooting

The fatal shooting happened Tuesday morning at a Sparks Street apartment complex, police said.

ATLANTA, GA — Two teenagers are dead, and a juvenile was injured, in a shooting early Tuesday in the 1000 block of Sparks Street, Atlanta Police said.

Officers responded around 12:30 a.m. to a Sparks Street apartment complex, where APD Homicide Unit Commander Lt. Andrew Smith said the fatal shooting occurred in a stairwell.

The shooting killed a 13-year-old teenager at the scene and initially injured two other people, ages 12 and 13, police said. However, police said in an update the second 13-year-old died at the hospital.

Police have not released a motive or a suspect description. Events leading to the shooting are unknown.
