25 Safest School Districts In Georgia

School safety is a key issue following the recent school shootings in Florida. See which Georgia schools rank as the safest.

ATLANTA, GA — Police, parents and educators are reviewing school safety measures following the Feb. 16 shooting rampage in Parkland, Florida, that killed 17, and social media threats of violence directed at several Atlanta area schools in the past week. One data compiler has revealed which Georgia school districts rank highest for safety.

Niche.com recently released its list of the Safest School Districts for 2018, which was created using information from the U.S. Department of Education, the FBI, parent reviews and other data. The top 25 honorees are mix of Atlanta area schools, including Buford in the top spot, plus City of Decatur and Marietta schools, along with those in other parts of the state.

Of the leader, Buford, one reviewer wrote: "I love Buford City Schools. The teachers and administration really care about the student's success. Many teachers at the high school are there before and after school to help students be successful. The students at the school work hard towards their grades and are involved in tons of activities. Whether it be on the fishing team or scoring the game winning touchdown, Buford is the place to be with all the clubs and sports."
