2nd Annual Russell ‘Rocks the Block’ Celebrates The Community
Russell 'Rocks the Block' gives back to the westside neighborhood that is at the heart of the company's Atlanta roots – Castleberry Hill
Russell CARES and CI Cares, the community engagement arms of H.J. Russell & Company (Russell) and its sister company Concessions International, LLC (CI) respectively, joined forces again this year to give back to the Castleberry Hill community, a Westside neighborhood they have invested in and made a difference in for nearly 70 years, long before Atlanta’s Westside became trendy. Several hundred residents and community supporters came out to the John Hope Community Center at The Villages of Castleberry on Saturday, June 22, to enjoy music, food, games, bounce houses, community resources, prizes, and lots of fun.
“CI and Russell believe a healthy community can’t exist without healthy, economically secure and empowered people, and the Russell Rocks the Block event shows that our commitment to Atlanta goes beyond constructing buildings and being an airport food concessionaire – it shows our commitment to the people who live in the communities they serve,” said Mori Russell, Business Development Manager, CI.
The Russell Rocks the Block Community Day is an annual event designed to show the community that Russell and CI are taking their commitment to Castleberry Hill area to another level by laying deeper roots that include, among several projects, the multi-million dollar renovation of The Villages of Castleberry, the impending opening of the Russell Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (RCIE) in the former Russell headquarters building at 504 Fair Street, adjacent to the Russell Hospitality Complex that includes the renovation of Castleberry Inn to a Clarion, Paschal’s restaurant, and the Loft at Castleberry Hill event space.
