$10K Reward Offered In Walmart, Target Fires

Authorities say the suspects set the stores on fire to shoplift while customers exit the stores, according to a media report.

ATLANTA, GA — A $10,000 reward is being offered after three fires, two at Walmart stores and one at a Target store, were ruled arson, according to Atlanta New First.

Three store employees were injured in a Monday afternoon two-alarm fire at a Piedmont Road Target, according to Atlanta Fire Rescue.

Firefighters arrived at the two-story store around 5 p.m., when they saw the first floor of the bedding section on fire, officials said.

The store was evacuated and crews took an all-hands approach to rid the building of smoke, officials said.

The three workers were evaluated for injuries and smoke inhalation, officials said.

No customers or firefighters were injured in the fire, officials said.

According to Atlanta News First, there were recent fires at a Martin Luther King Jr. Drive Walmart and a Howell Mill Road Walmart.

Authorities say the suspects set the stores on fire to shoplift while customers exit the stores, ANF reported.

The outlet reported damage to the stores add up to equal millions.

It is unclear if all three fires are related.

A $10,000 reward is being offered leading to the conviction of suspects, the outlet reported. Surveillance images of the suspects were released.
