$42M GA Lottery Prizes Won In Scratch-Offs
A Georgia resident won $3 million in the $3,000 Festive Frenzy scratch-off game.
ATLANTA, GA — Georgia Lottery officials on Monday said a lucky player received a $3 million gift for Christmas in July.
An Albany resident won $3 million in the $3,000 Festive Frenzy scratch-off game, lottery officials said. The winning ticket was bought at a Dawson Road gas station, lottery officials said.
The winner on Thursday claimed $1,567,587 in cash, lottery officials said.

Scratch-off winnings were lucrative last week, totaling $42,080,066, lottery officials said.
A Fantasy 5 jackpot winner in Rossville on Friday secured $150,000 in prize money, lottery officials said. The winning ticket was bought at a Mission Ridge Road gas station.

As for Friday's Mega Millions drawing, two players in Dalton and Douglasville won $20,000, lottery officials said.
In Patterson, a resident won $70,000 playing the Georgia Gem 7’s Diggi Game Saturday on the mobile app, lottery officials said.
Online winning tickets have an expiration date of 180 days from the drawing date while instant ticket winners have 90 days from the expired date to claim prizes. Instructions on how to receive prizes are here.
Georgia takes 5.75 percent in state taxes and 24 percent in federal taxes for winnings more than $5,000.
"The GLC reports to the IRS and Georgia Department of Revenue the names of winners of prizes above $600. ... Additionally, the GLC is required to check for and deduct any outstanding child support payments for prizes of $2,500 and above and student loans and state taxes for prizes of $5,000 and above, net of wager or ticket cost," lottery officials said on the Georgia Lottery website.
