$42M In Lottery Scratch-Off Winnings, Including A $3M Prize, Claimed In GA
Three players scored Powerball and Mega Millions wins, while a scratch-off turned up a $3 million profit for a lucky Georgia player.

A week after more than $42 million in scratch-off prizes were claimed, Georgia Lottery officials said a scratch-off ticket was worth $3 million for a Woodstock player.
The victor claimed their winnings Thursday after purchasing the lucky ticket from a Highway 92 Walmart, Georgia Lottery officials said Friday.

This comes after a Loganville player won $1 million in Powerball's Feb. 7 drawing with a ticket bought at a Loganville Highway Southwest Publix.
The next Powerball drawing is at 11 p.m. Saturday and has an estimated jackpot of $146 million.

In Gillsville, a Cleveland resident bought a $1,500,000 Max scratch-off at a Highway 92 food mart and won $1.5 million. Officials said the winnings were claimed Feb. 6.
On Feb. 6, $5 turned into $30,000 for a Mega Millions player in Columbus. The ticket matched four of the five white-ball numbers, plus the Mega Ball, and had a built-in 3x multiplier - turning $10,000 into $30,000. Tuesday night's Mega Millions drawing will have an estimated $366 million.
Last week, Georgia Lottery players collected $42,076,064 in prizes from scratch-off tickets, lottery officials said.
Other scratch-off, Keno! and diggi game wins included:
- A Flowery Branch resident hit the jackpot playing 20x the Money Quick Win on the Georgia Lottery mobile app on Monday, winning $34,892.
- Another player won the $10,000 top prize in Feb. 6's midday Georgia FIVE drawing with a ticket from Gas World 27, 3232 Deans Bridge Road, in Augusta.
- A Blairsville resident won $29,004 playing Max Treasure’s Ancient Adventures on Sunday.
- A player in Hartwell won $15,460 playing Daily Fortune on Feb. 7.
- A Canton resident won $15,000 playing 50x the Luck Linked Wins on Feb. 7.
- An Atlanta player won $12,500 playing Viking Gold on Feb. 7.
- A player in Grovetown won $12,000 playing Keno! on Sunday.
- A resident of Martinez won $10,000 playing Elephant King Jackpots on Feb. 7.
- A Locust Grove resident won $25,000 playing Elephant King Jackpots on Thursday.
- A player in Lawrenceville won $15,000 playing Disco Pig on Thursday.
- Another Lawrenceville resident won $14,784 playing Daily Fortune on Friday.
- A McDonough player won $10,000 playing Disco Pig on Friday.
All funding from the Georgia Lottery's digital games, scratch-offs and other games benefit education in the Peach State, lottery officials said.
Online winning tickets have an expiration date of 180 days from the drawing date while instant ticket winners have 90 days from the expired date to claim prizes. Instructions on how to receive prizes are here.
Georgia takes 5.75 percent in state taxes and 24 percent in federal taxes for winnings more than $5,000.
"The (Georgia Lottery Corporation) reports to the IRS and Georgia Department of Revenue the names of winners of prizes above $600. ... Additionally, the GLC is required to check for and deduct any outstanding child support payments for prizes of $2,500 and above and student loans and state taxes for prizes of $5,000 and above, net of wager or ticket cost," lottery officials said on the Georgia Lottery website.
