After Dad Stands Up Daughter, 7, Brother Escorts Her To Dance

ATLANTA, GA — A brother didn’t want to see his little sister heartbroken so he took her to a daddy-daughter dance when her father couldn’t attend. A Facebook post by the mother, Trelysia Hamerter has gone viral with 50,000 shares and over 110,000 "likes." She explains how seven-year-old Skylar was devastated when learning her father wasn’t attending the dance for the second year in a row.

“She cried because she had her heart set on going,” Hamerter wrote. “I felt so bad because there was nothing I could do because I’m not a male.”

Her 11-year-old son, Christian, stepped up to the task, ready to take on the role.
“He wanted his sister to know that she deserves a man keeping his word and making her feel special,” Trelysia said.

“Just know that I’m raising someone a GREAT HUSBAND one day,” she concluded in the post.
