AG Chris Carr Intends To Run For Georgia Governor In 2026: Report

According to a media outlet, Attorney General Chris Carr has been sharing his plans with fellow Republicans.

ATLANTA, GA — Attorney General Chris Carr is eyeing the top office in Georgia and is planning to run for governor in 2026, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Friday.

If successful, Carr would follow Gov. Brian Kemp, who is currently in his second term and not allowed to run for a third term.

According to the AJC, Carr has been sharing his intentions with fellow Republicans.

Likely candidates to run against Carr for the Republican nod include Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, State Secretary Brad Raffensperger and former U.S. Sen. Kelly Loeffler, the AJC reported.
