Here are the top three stories in Atlanta today:

  1. Police are currently investigating a shooting that took place yesterday on Amal Drive, near Atlanta's Lakewood Heights neighborhood. No information about suspects or surrounding circumstances has been released at this time. (11Alive.com WXIA)
  2. A local artist has designed a map highlighting Atlanta's Black-created art and businesses as a guide for those who want to learn about and support the local Black entrepreneurial and art community. George F. Baker III, also known as GFB3, collaborated with Ideas United on the map, which started as a Black History Month initiative. According to WABE, Baker's "informative map offers discovery opportunities to Atlanta explorers year-round." (WABE 90.1 FM)
  3. A man who has been accused of stealing a car with a nine-year-old boy inside has been arrested in Atlanta. On Monday morning, officers responded to a kidnapping call in the 800 block of Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard SW. A woman reportedly pulled into a Goodwill store parking lot and got out while the car was still running. She told police that a man jumped into the vehicle and "sped away with her child still in the back seat." Georgia State Patrol troopers spotted the stolen vehicle and apprehended 38-year-old Darius White after reuniting the boy with his mother. White is facing charges of kidnapping, cruelty towards children, and theft by taking. (CBS 46 News)
