Amber Alert Cancelled For GA Infant, Father Arrested: Update
An Amber Alert and Levi's Call was originally issued Saturday morning for 2-month-old Draco Mayes.
AMERICUS, GA — Law enforcement officials have arrested 23-year-old Everett Demonte Mayes, who allegedly abducted his two-month-old son, Draco, and shot another man to death in the southern Georgia town of Americus.
According to reports, police responded to the 100 block of Carter Street for a report of man shot. La’Warrior Gardener was taken to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound, but later died from his injuries, WALB News reports.
Reports say Mayes allegedly took the infant and fled the scene.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation issued an Amber Alert and a Levi's Call for the child Saturday morning. Both alerts were cancelled around 11 a.m.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation Saturday issued an Amber Alert for a 2-month-old boy from southern Georgia. Officials believe Draco Mayes was taken early Saturday morning by Everett Demonte Mayes Jr., 23.
The baby was last seen in the 100 block of Carter Avenue in Americus wearing a a dark grey, long-sleeved onesie that says “happy” on the front with stars on it.
Everett Mayes is described as being five-feet nine-inches tall and weighs approximately 165 pounds. He has brown eyes, black hair and a full beard. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and white shoes.
Authorities believe Everett Mayes to be traveling in a red 2013 Toyota Camry with black Velocity rims and Texas plates. The plate number is KND3508. The car has a dent in the driver's side door and a taillight out.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Draco Mayes is asked to call 911 or the Americus Police Department at 229-924-4550.
