• Bird, Lime restrict scooters in downtown Atlanta on Tuesday to block planned takeover (atlantanewsfirst.com) — If you rely on scooters downtown, you may have noticed Bird and Lime temporarily locking out rides in parts of Atlanta this week to stop a planned "scooter takeover." Working with Atlanta's transportation department and police, the companies geofenced no-ride and slow zones, sparking concern among regular riders but aiming to reduce injuries and traffic disruptions. Officials say they'll keep targeting organized takeovers while preserving everyday trips.
• Rome child in coma after being hit by truck while trying to catch school bus (atlantanewsfirst.com) — A 7-year-old Rome boy is in a medically induced coma at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta's Scottish Rite Hospital after being hit by a truck while trying to catch his school bus. Rome police say the child entered a wet roadway near an apartment complex, and investigators report no signs the driver was impaired or speeding. The family expects he will need surgery.
• Braves finish sweep of Dodgers behind Chris Sale's CG, 11 K's (statenews.net) — Atlanta baseball fans just watched Chris Sale dominate, tossing his first complete game in seven years as the Braves shut out the Dodgers 1–0 to complete a three-game sweep. Drake Baldwin's leadoff homer provided the only run, and the win pulled Atlanta within a game of Los Angeles for the National League's No. 2 playoff seed, underscoring a pivotal late-season surge.
