COVID-19 Rates Growing In 48 States: What To Know About Vaccines In GA (patch.com) — Metro Atlanta residents are seeing COVID-19 infections rise across all local counties, even as overall national rates remain relatively low and hospitalizations stay below past peaks. Updated 2026–27 vaccines targeting the XFG variant will arrive in Georgia later this month, but current FDA rules limit eligibility mainly to older adults and younger people with high-risk conditions, and insurance coverage could be uncertain until federal guidance is finalized.
   

2. Atlanta Chamber Players announces 51st season (earrelevant.net) — Atlanta classical music fans can look forward to three major Atlanta Chamber Players concerts this season, starting November 22 at Peachtree Christian Church and continuing at First Presbyterian and Ahavath Achim Synagogue. The ensemble will mix Brahms, Schubert, and other classics with a world premiere, plus continue its Rapido! competition and intimate Soirée Series in homes around metro Atlanta.

Man seen exposing himself in Atlanta's Edgewood neighborhood (atlantanewsfirst.com) — Neighbors in Atlanta's Edgewood neighborhood say a man has repeatedly exposed and touched himself in public, sometimes in front of children, prompting multiple 911 calls and stepped-up police patrols. Residents along Whiteford Avenue report feeling less safe and are working with Atlanta police, who urge anyone in the area to stay alert and report suspicious behavior.
   

4. Atlanta braces for massive Labor Day weekend as 3 major events bring 100K+ visitors, $100M (wsbtv.com) — Atlanta is gearing up for a packed Labor Day weekend as Dragon Con, Atlanta Black Pride, and the college football kickoff bring more than 100,000 visitors and over $100 million in economic impact to the city. Expect crowded hotels, busy restaurants and bars, and extra business for food trucks, parking operators, and other small vendors across Atlanta.
   

5. Atlanta man sentenced after cocaine found hidden in limes, transformer shipment (wsbradio.com) — Federal prosecutors say an Atlanta man who used sham companies to move cocaine into the metro area has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after nearly 200 pounds were seized from transformer and lime shipments. Investigators also described other large drug loads hidden in produce bound for Georgia, while a Stone Mountain woman awaits sentencing in the related money laundering case.
