1. 2nd arrest made in August shooting that killed 1, hurt 3 (wsbtv.com) — Atlanta police have arrested a second 19-year-old suspect in connection with an August 4 shooting at an apartment complex on Maple Street that left one man dead and three others wounded. The APD Fugitive Unit, working with the FBI Violent Crime Task Force, took Chance Blue into custody on murder, armed robbery, and aggravated assault charges, following earlier charges against Naim Smith.
2. Georgia Power restores power to 80,000 customers after Isaias brings high winds, fallen trees (atlantanewsfirst.com) — High winds from Isaias knocked out power and toppled trees across metro Atlanta, but Georgia Power says electricity has now been restored to more than 80,000 customers. In-town streets like Highland Avenue saw large trees crash onto cars and cut power overnight, rattling residents but causing no reported injuries. Crews credit recent grid upgrades for speeding up restoration.
3. Five dead in Atlanta in alleged murder suicide thought to involve family members (themirror.com) — Five people are dead after an alleged domestic-violence-related murder-suicide at a home linked to the Atlanta area, with Douglas County police saying there is no ongoing threat to the public. Investigators report four adults were found dead at the scene and a fifth died at a regional medical center, while autopsies and a full investigation continue through the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
4. Kevin Denkey nets two, Cincinnati tops Atlanta to end skid (statenews.net) — Atlanta United fell 3–1 at home to FC Cincinnati on Saturday night, despite controlling possession and a second-half equalizer from Miguel Almiron. The loss snaps Atlanta's brief unbeaten run and keeps the club stuck near the bottom of the standings, leaving local fans anxious about how the season's final stretch will unfold.
