Angel Reese Traded To WNBA's Atlanta Dream
The Atlanta Dream has acquired WNBA forward Angel Reese, an All-Star and leader in rebounds, in exchange for two first-round draft picks.

ATLANTA, GA — The Atlanta Dream has acquired two-time WNBA All-Star Angel Reese in a trade with the Chicago Sky in exchange for two future first-round draft picks.
News of the trade broke Monday, when both teams revealed the Baltimore native was traded in exchange for the Sky's ability to claim 2027 and 2028 first-round picks from the Dream.
“I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to join the Atlanta Dream organization,” Reese, 23, said in a news release. “I’m focused on continuing to grow my game, competing at the highest level, connecting with the fans and giving everything I've got to the Dream.”

"An Angel’s DREAM! ATL WHAT UP?! @atlantadream," Reese wrote in the caption.

As part of the trade, the Dream reserves the right to swap second-round picks with the Sky in 2028.
Dream General Manager Dan Padover released the following statement:
“Angel is a dynamic talent and a perfect fit for what we are building in Atlanta. She has already proven herself as one of the most impactful players in the league, and her competitiveness, production and drive to win align seamlessly with our vision. This is an exciting moment for our organization and our fans.”
A collegiate star as a Louisiana State University Tiger, Reese was the first round, seventh pick for the Sky in the 2024 WNBA Draft.
While at LSU, she secured a 2023 National Championship win and was awarded Most Outstanding Player honors.
She went on to record 49 career double-doubles and average 14 points and 12.8 rebounds per game, according to the Dream. She also received All-Rookie Team honors in 2024.
Reese is the single player in WNBA history to average at least 12 rebounds a game in a season, notching "an unprecedented start to her WNBA career," the Dream said.
In total, the Sky said Reese made 64 career appearances with the team and averaged 14.1 points, 12.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists.
The Sky chose to trade Reese to promote "balance" on its roster, the team said.
“Angel has achieved many record-breaking milestones in her first two years in the WNBA and has been a competitive force for the Sky,” Sky General Manager Jeff Pagliocca said in a news release.
“We are thankful for her many important contributions to this league and this game, and we know she will continue to have a big impact on the court and beyond. We wish Angel all the best in her next chapter.”
This comes after Reese wrapped up her latest season with Unrivaled's Rose. She scored 39 points in her last three games with the team.
Reese's arrival also comes after the Dream lost Maya Caldwell to the Portland Fire in the 2026 WNBA expansion draft.
Dream tickets for the 2026 season are on sale, as well as Reese's new team jersey.
The Dream is scheduled to play five match-ups at the State Farm Arena, starting on May 17, when Atlanta will take on reigning champs Las Vegas Aces.
The arena will set the stage for bouts against the Indiana Fever (two games), Toronto Tempo and the Sky. All other home games will be played at the Gateway Center Arena in College Park.
