Armed Standoff At Atlanta Four Seasons Hotel Ends In Arrest

Reports said shots were fired before a person was arrested Tuesday following a standoff at the Four Seasons Hotel in Atlanta.

ATLANTA, GA — A person is in custody after a standoff at the Four Seasons Hotel in Midtown reportedly ended in shots fired, authorities said. The standoff also prompted police to issue a shelter-in-place order and shut down multiple roads.

According to Atlanta police, officers responded to the hotel at 75 14th St. NE around 3 p.m. after receiving a call about an armed person. Out of caution, authorities set up a perimeter and closed several nearby roads while police investigated.

Reports from 11Alive and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution said shots were fired during the standoff. It's unclear if anyone was injured, but the Journal-Constitution report said a man was taken out of the hotel through the 14th Street entrance on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance.

Shortly before 4 p.m., police issued a shelter-in-place and urged anyone within site of the Four Seasons Hotel "to avoid any windows and rooms facing the area."

The shelter-in-place was lifted around 4:35 p.m., shortly after the suspect was taken into custody.

  • 13th Street NE at W Peachtree Street NE
  • 13th Street NE at Crescent Avenue NE
  • 13th Street NE at Peachtree Walk NE

In a social media post, authorities asked residents to continue avoiding the area.
