Army Vet Killed in Parachuting Accident
The retired Army master sergeant tried to BASE jump from a 2,000-foot TV tower in southwest Georgia, one of the state's tallest structures.
The body of a 37-year-old retired Army master sergeant was found Thursday after he attempted to parachute from a massive TV tower in southwest Georgia.
Brandon Jackson was jumping from a 2,000-foot tower belonging to WTLH-TV in Thomas County, located more than 230 miles southwest of Atlanta. He was attempting a 1,600-foot BASE jump from the tower, according to WALB-TV in Albany.
Two other men were with Jackson at the time of the accident: Tom Baker, 26, and Miles Daisher, 46. Both were arrested and face criminal trespassing charges.

Jackson's body was found near the tower, and his deployed parachute was found in a tree. Nearby residents assisted police and medical teams in finding Jackson's body using their ATVs over the rugged terrain.
BASE jumping is the activity of parachuting from a fixed structure or cliff.
