ArtsBridge hosts Musical Theatre Intensive at Cobb Energy Centre
ArtsBridge is expanding programming to help students and educators with professional development in all areas of musical theatre skills.
ArtsBridge is expanding their programming to help students and educators with professional development in all areas of musical theatre skills. They held their very first Musical Theatre Intensive with sessions taught by established artists and professionals. The Intensive included vocal rehearsals with live musical accompaniment, a choreography and staging session, an audition masterclass with performance and resume tips, dress rehearsal, and musical showcase. It was held at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre on July 10.
During the Intensive students were treated to a backstage tour, individual advice and coaching from theatre professionals, and the unforgettable experience of performing on the Cobb Energy Centre stage.
“We had a wonderful group of high school and middle school students from Cherokee County at our first Music Theatre Intensive,” states Sarah Clay Lindvall, Director of Arts Education and Community Outreach at ArtsBridge Foundation. “We included audition skill building, which is rarely a focus in the classroom. I believe it’s important to give students an opportunity to experience and polish all facets of the audition process in a fun and supportive environment so that in the future, they are prepared rather than scared. We are excited to provide quality arts education resources for educators and students.”
