Atlanta Airport Stabbing Suspect Charged With Aggravated Assault

The Florida woman was accused of stabbing three people, including a taxi driver and an Atlanta police lieutenant, at the Atlanta airport.

ATLANTA, GA — The woman who was accused of stabbing three people, including an Atlanta police lieutenant and a taxi driver, Wednesday at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is facing aggravated assault charges, according to jail records.

Atlanta Police identified the woman as Damaris Milton, 44, of Orlando, Florida. Milton was booked Wednesday night into the Clayton County Jail on four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to jail records.

The stabbing occurred around 4:45 p.m., police said. Officers encountered Milton, who they said was armed with a knife, outside security near the west crossover, where she began walking toward the south terminal, police said.

Police said Milton had already stabbed a taxi driver prior to arriving at the airport, and as officers tried to talk her into dropping the knife, they restricted her movement and relocated travelers from the area.

Milton stabbed a woman, and then an Atlanta police lieutenant who was trying to take her into custody, police said. Another officer tackled and disarmed Milton, police said.

All three victims, who were alert and breathing, were taken to a hospital, police said, adding the Milton was not hurt and was taken to the airport precinct.
